About Us
A New Dealer for Southern Africa Monday, January 2, 2012 Aerial application aircraft manufacturer Air Tractor, Inc. announced that Ag Aviation Africa will officially become the Air Tractor dealer for southern Africa in January 2012. Lourens Kritzinger and son Matt own and operate Ag Aviation Africa, and will be authorized representatives to sell and service the complete line of Air Tractor agricultural and firefighting aircraft.
Ag Aviation Africa, located in Cape Town, South Africa will serve aerial spray operators throughout southern Africa through an infrastructure network developed over many years by Lourens Kritzinger who has operated a successful aerial spraying operation since 1977. "We have the ability to provide a range of services to operators across southern Africa," says Kritzinger, "with Air Tractor sales, aircraft financing assistance, maintenance and field support to ag and aerial firefighting operators. Beyond aircraft sales and support, Ag Aviation Africa also provides value-added services such as consulting by highly regarded agricultural specialists who are experienced in aerial application of crops in various growing regions of Africa. Today, plants, insects and fungi are responding more and more in an irregular way to the application of chemicals, so it is very important to make use of the very best technical support to obtain the desired results," notes Kritzinger.
Air Tractor President Jim Hirsch sees southern Africa as an important and growing market for Air Tractor aircraft sales, and Ag Aviation Africa as the key to reaching aerial spraying operators there. "The world agricultural market expansion is shifting increasingly towards developing countries. Investments in production capacity and infrastructure are moving towards the developing world, and that's where our long-term opportunity for sales growth lies. Lourens Kritzinger has been involved in the South Africa's aerial application industry for many, many years and has important governmental and private industry relationships throughout the region that he has developed during the course of growing his own successful aerial spraying business. This kind of industry knowledge and experience is a common denominator among Air Tractor dealers worldwide, so Lourens and his son Matt are a natural fit for our dealer organization. We're delighted to have them in our Air Tractor family," says Hirsch.
"We are very pleased and excited to become an Air Tractor dealer," says Matt Kritzinger. "My father Lourens has flown just about every kind of ag aircraft during his career, and it's clear that Air Tractor is far and away the best aircraft available. Air Tractor is unmatched for performance, reliability, pilot safety, parts availability and factory support."
Ag Aviation Africa sells and supports the complete line of Air Tractor agricultural and firefighting aircraft, ranging from the 400-gallon capacity Air Tractor AT-401B to the wildfire-fighting, 800-gallon AT-802F single engine air tanker.
